I was very lucky to inherit an interest for wildlife from my parents and am so grateful for that. We still enjoy it so much together. From a spring walk with my Mum appreciating every sound and sight, to travelling to Coral Reefs with my Father and learning so much about the wonderful underwater world. My father passed in October 2022 and all of this is a tribute to him.  I have all the time in the world for nature, it only ever rewards and it never disappoints. It may frustrate, but if you wait long enough that frustration will always turn into that moment you longed to witness, or that bird you wanted to see, or that animal crossing that sunrise at the right time.  Sunrise is absolutely the most magical time of day, mainly because the light is the best light of the day and you generally have it to yourself ! But this does sometimes involve being up very early to accommodate coffee and then driving to wherever your targeted animal may live, and then maybe a walk aswell. So a Stork at sunrise was a 3:30 alarm. Avocets and Curlews at sunrise was a 4:15 alarm. Spinner dolphins returning into the protection of the Atolls after a nights hunting was a 5am alarm. So sometimes when people say complimentary things about photos, it's lovely, but I always feel a bit of a fraud. Nature was happening anyway, I just committed to learning and understanding behaviours and putting myself in the right place at the right time. Yes, that sunset was stunning. It was always going to be stunning, I just made sure I was there to capture it.

Why I Wanted a Website

Really for selfish reasons, I just wanted everything all in one place, but also as you travel and meet people with similar interests they ask to see photos and as a mainly private and happy in solitude person I don’t want everyone to be my friend on Facebook ! So this is just a place for my favourite photos. It also gave me a home for my videos which started with the acquisition of a Go Pro ! More recently, in April 2021 I discovered Blogs. I have always kept a journal of any trip away and even more specifically Wildlife Trips away. Mainly because you want to absolutely maximise that trip and always have it with you. You could go and just take a few photos on your phone and eventually lose them all and all those moments have gone. Combining the photos and the writing, you kind of get to keep the experience. I found it was really easy to do a Blog and hope to capture lots of walks and trips. They may or may not be interesting, but if not you can just look at the pictures !
